Benefits: Heather honey is highly prized for its health and healing benefits as it’s rich in antioxidants and anti-bacterial properties. It’s traditionally used to treat digestive disorders and kidney infections.
Tasting Notes & Tips: This honey has a highly perfumed aroma, strong heather notes, with a hint of caramel or Amaretto. A deep amber colour, it’s ‘medium bodied’ and sweet. We think it’s fab with cheese (anything with ‘bite’), game, toasted teacakes, porridge, and added to cakes or pastry recipes.
Provenance: A popular honey with many, ours is an exquisite example. Made in Latvia by beekeepers committed to ethical beekeeping and the happiness of their bees. The bees forage on wild heather which produces flowers in late summer.
Raw honey is not suitable during pregnancy or for children under 12 months old.
